What SyncPaste is
SyncPaste is a clipboard history manager for Mac, iPad and iPhone. It remembers everything you copy — text, rich text, links, images, files, locations on a map, colors, code — and keeps it in sync across devices signed in to the same Apple Account, travelling exclusively through the user's private iCloud database. There is no account to create and no server run by the developer.
On the Mac a shortcut (⌘ ⇧ V by default, and changeable) opens a shelf above the app you are using, and one click pastes right into it. On iPhone and iPad the SyncPaste keyboard brings your history inside any app.
Frequently asked questions
How do I turn on the SyncPaste keyboard on iPhone or iPad?
Open Settings › General › Keyboard › Keyboards › Add New Keyboard and pick SyncPaste from the third-party keyboards. Then tap SyncPaste in the list and turn on Allow Full Access.
To use it, press and hold the globe key (🌐) on the system keyboard and choose SyncPaste.
Why does the keyboard ask for “Full Access”?
Only so it can read your clipboard history in the data storage shared between the app and its extension. Without that permission, iOS stops the extension from reaching that data and the keyboard has nothing to show you.
The keyboard does not log what you type and makes no network requests: it sends nothing to the developer or to third parties. The details are in the privacy policy.
Why does the Mac need the Accessibility permission, and what changes if I refuse?
The Accessibility permission is used solely to paste on your behalf into the frontmost app: it is what lets a click in the shelf drop the content straight where you are typing.
If you do not grant it, SyncPaste keeps working normally but simply copies the clip to the system clipboard — you paste it yourself with ⌘ V.
You can grant or revoke it in System Settings › Privacy & Security › Accessibility.
How does iCloud sync work?
Clips are replicated into your Apple Account's private iCloud database and from there reach your other devices signed in to the same account. There is no SyncPaste account and the developer has no access to that data.
If syncing does not start, check that: the device is online; you are signed in with the same Apple Account on every device; iCloud Drive is on in Settings › [your name] › iCloud; and you have free iCloud storage left.
Why don't passwords and sensitive content sync?
It is a deliberate security choice. Passwords, API keys, tokens and card numbers are detected automatically and stay only on the device where you copied them; the same goes for anything copied from a password manager. Viewing them requires Face ID or Touch ID.
Content copied from apps you have excluded in settings, and content above the size limit, does not sync either.
How do I change the shortcut on the Mac?
Open SyncPaste Settings (from the menu bar item, or with ⌘ , while the app is frontmost), go to the shortcut section, click the field and press the new key combination. The default is ⌘ ⇧ V.
The same screen also lets you change the app's language.
How do the free trial and the plans work?
The download is free and the trial lasts 7 days with every feature included, without asking for payment details. When it ends the app locks until you pick a plan.
- €2.99/month — auto-renewing monthly
- €29.99/year — auto-renewing yearly
- €89.99 one-off — lifetime purchase, no subscription
Your purchase covers Mac, iPad and iPhone on the same Apple Account. Prices are shown in euro and may vary by region and currency.
How do I restore a purchase I already made?
Make sure you are signed in with the same Apple Account you bought with, then open the plans screen in SyncPaste and tap Restore purchases. The app will check again with the App Store and unlock the features.
How do I cancel my subscription?
Subscriptions are managed by Apple, so you cancel them in your Apple Account settings:
- On iPhone or iPad: Settings › [your name] › Subscriptions › SyncPaste › Cancel Subscription.
- On Mac: App Store › [your name] at the bottom left › Account Settings › Subscriptions › Manage.
Cancellation takes effect at the end of the period you have already paid for. Refunds are handled by Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com: the developer does not handle payments.
How do I lock a clip, and how do I unlock it?
Select the clip and choose the lock action (the padlock among the detail actions). From then on the content stays hidden and only reopens with Face ID, Touch ID or your device passcode or password.
To unlock it, open it and pass authentication; the same action lets you remove the lock.
How do I clear my history or export my clips?
From the app you can delete a single clip or clear the whole history, and export your clips. If sync is on, deletions propagate to your other devices on the same Apple Account.
You can also remove the data stored in iCloud from your Apple Account settings.
